mama stories week 4

I think breastfeeding is addicting to me. The cuddles. The sounds. The closeness. That’s why I’m passionate about everyone having the RIGHT support. Because DAMN can it make a difference. Pushing through those hard spots in the beginning are so so so worth it to me.

I’ve said this before & I’ll say it again—having a kids is healing my inner child. In more ways than I ever imagined. Like putting on my daughter’s Minnie Mouse necklace. Little Rach was smiling from ear to ear. Because I let her wear whatever she damn well pleases. And so I’ll do the same for my children. Let them wear what they wanna wear, let them get messy, let them run through the mud—we only get one childhood ✨

I am so sick of seeing Facebook groups, TikTok’s, and IG reels tell you that a 10 step routine will have your 3 week old sleeping through the night. Infants wake up at night. Infancy is birth to 3 years old!!! Infants eat at night. They need closeness at night. Adults wake up at night! It’s NORMAL.

Motherhood is loving someone more than you love yourself. Motherhood takes more love than it gives.

Motherhood is messy but oh so beautiful when you allow it to consume you in the best ways. You can still have pieces of yourself in this tangled mess of love—but you’ll come out a different person that’s for sure.

One minute baby is kicking you from the inside of your body & then you blink and they are in your arms. I’m nostalgic for the present moment—I know it’s fleeting.

My baby girl is turning two!!!! Cards are special and always will be important to me. Why not have your babies, dogs, and cats sign them?

The hardest transition of one baby to two babies, especially when your first baby is still young, is the time you spend apart. The time you have to give to new baby. I wasn’t prepared for this. I know it’s only a speck in the grand scheme of life but it’s still hard to miss doing everything with your first baby.

Here’s to celebrating nursing baby in a carrier!!!! My favorite move hands down!!! Tutorial coming soon 🤍
